AMPP QP6 · Zinc, 85/15, aluminum wire · Metallizing since 2000
Thermal Arc Spray Metallizing
We arc spray zinc, zinc-aluminum, and aluminum onto bridge steel, marine structures, and industrial steel. In our shops, at the fabricator, or on structures already standing.

Arc Spray Metallizing
We run Thermion twin arc electric equipment with 1/8" and 3/16" wire. Metallizing has been part of our work since 2000, and we have held QP6 without a lapse since we first earned it.
- Thermion precision twin arc electric
- 1/8" and 3/16" wire diameters
- Portable rigs for field and fabricator work
- Blast equipment with grit recovery

Wire We Spray
99.9% zinc
Galvanic protection for bridge, marine, and industrial steel. The zinc gives itself up before the steel does.
85/15 zinc-aluminum
Longer service life than zinc alone. Common on long-term infrastructure and severe exposure.
1150 and 1350 aluminum
Where weight matters or chemical exposure rules out zinc.
Aluminum oxide
Non-skid on walkways, ramps, decks, and road plates.
Bronze, brass, copper, pewter
Architectural and decorative work.
Hard and cored wires
Specified material properties for wear and specialty service.
Sealers and colored polyurethane topcoats go over the metallized surface where the spec calls for it, or where the finish has to match.
Shop, Field, and Fabricator
Metallizing goes where the steel is. Most of it runs through our shops in Donora, Millville, and Pekin, but a standing structure is not going to come to us, and some fabricated members are too big to ship twice.
Shop applied
Offloading and reloading, edge grinding, blasting, metallizing, sealers and topcoats, splice plate and secondary member assembly with bolt torquing, and storage of finished work until you need it.
Field applied
Total containment around the member, dust collection, portable compressors and generators, portable blast equipment with grit recovery and cleaning, sealer application, and full QC documentation. Crews run self-sufficient and stay out of the way of other trades.
At the fabricator
For members too large or too costly to ship, we bring the equipment and the certification to their floor.

Where It Goes
The Federal Highway Administration points to metallizing as the corrosion protection tied to a 100-year service life on new steel bridges.
Certified and Audited
Regal is one of a small number of applicators worldwide holding QP6. We obtained the certification over 15 years ago and have passed the annual quality audit every year since without a lapse.
