Shop Applied Intumescent Fireproofing
Passive fire protection applied to structural steel indoors, before it ships. Thickness measured and documented member by member.

Why Shop Applied
Intumescent is a thick, temperature-sensitive coating with real cure windows. In the shop we control the conditions and the steel arrives on site already protected, so fireproofing is off the critical path instead of holding up the trades behind it.
- Structural columns and beams
- Interior structural framing
- Architecturally exposed structural steel
- Commercial and institutional steel
- Industrial structures

Thickness Is the Spec
Intumescent works by expanding into an insulating char when it heats. How much you need depends on the listed design, the shape of the member, and the rating it has to hold — so the required thickness changes from member to member on the same job. We read it, record it, and the file goes out with the steel.
Thick-build intumescent is sprayed through heated plural component equipment, which meters and mixes the two components at the gun and holds the material at temperature so it builds to thickness in fewer passes.
Primer compatibility is confirmed against the listed design before anything is applied. The wrong primer under an intumescent will void the assembly.
