Field Applied Coatings and Blasting
New construction or maintenance painting on steel already in service, Regal brings its expertise directly to the project site. Our field crews mobilize with complete containment systems, dust-collection equipment, compressors and specialized application equipment to perform surface preparation and protective coating services.
What We Do On Site
Blasting
Bridge girders, towers, and structural steel to AMPP cleanliness and profile standards.
Coatings
Full systems applied on structure, from prime through topcoat.
Metallizing
Zinc, 85/15, and aluminum arc spray on standing structures.
Touch-up and repair
Shipping damage, weld burn, and field repairs brought back to the original system.
Lead abatement
C3 certified removal of lead-bearing coatings.
Tank linings
PA DEP certified, above ground and underground.
Maintenance Painting
Most maintenance work happens on structures that cannot stop. The bridge carries traffic, the plant stays online, the tank has a date it has to be back in service. That schedule drives the sequence as much as the coating spec does.
Overcoat of existing systems
Surface tolerant systems applied over sound existing coating where full removal is not warranted.
Spot repair and zone painting
Failed areas and high priority zones prepped and recoated, tied back into the existing system.
Full removal and recoat
Existing coating taken back to bare steel under containment, then rebuilt from prime through topcoat.
Lead-bearing coating removal
C3 certified removal on older steel, with containment, dust collection, and media recovery.
Tank and vessel recoating
In-service tanks, vessels, and piping brought back to a specified system, inside and out.

Recycled media cuts the dust on site and holds a more consistent profile than single-use abrasive. It also means less waste leaving the job.

Certifications
QP1 is the certification that matters for field work. It is audited annually and covers coating application on complex industrial and marine steel.
Also carries state, city, turnpike commission, and port authority certifications, and is registered on SAM.gov.
